Basically, the Hogwartvengers AU is made of complete awesome and win, and apparently there is a lack of Stony fic to be had. This was originally written for Karen (who is awesome) and so I just thought I’d put it up in case you guys wanted to read it or something. (I’ve looked over it but it’s unbetad so if you see any mistakes feel free to shout.)

I KNOW YOU CAN JUST TELL HOW CLOSE THEY WERE AT THE ACADEMY AND HOW MUCH THEY TRUSTED EACH OTHER AND LOVED EACH OTHER SHHH. BUT THEN (WHOOPS HAVE YOU SEEN THE END OF TIME? SPOILERS) THE TIME LORDS HAD TO GO BE ARROGANT IDIOTS AND PLANT THE DRUMS IN HIS HEAD THE DRUMS STARTED TO BE TOO MUCH FOR HIM AND OMG. CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE TO CONSTANTLY HAVE THE WAR DRUMS OF A NATION OF NEAR-GODS POUNDING IN YOUR HEAD ALL YOUR LIFE? NO WONDER HE FELT THE NEED TO TAKE OVER THE UNIVERSE, HE JUST NEEDED SOME MEASURE OF CONTROL, LIKE HE COULD BE IN CONTROL OF OTHER IF HE COULDN’T CONTROL HIS OWN HEAD.
I always kind of felt like the Doctor thought he could save him though; even though there was so many bad memories between them, he wanted to forgive him so bad because then maybe he could be forgiven too. He wanted to put all of it behind him almost but the Master couldn’t do that. The Doctor’s apologies couldn’t just fix him. So he played the game to the end so he could finally be in control and maybe a bit to spite the Doctor? because he’d turned his back on him all those years ago.
(I’m sorry that was way too long I just have a lot of feels.)
